Sonography Program Spotlight - Grand Valley State University
Grand Valley State University is one of only three programs currently accredited by CAAHEP for pediatric echocardiography in the United States. With only three positions open for pediatric echocardiography students, Grand Valley State students receive extensive one-on-one training throughout their education from their instructors. Led by Program Director Katelyn Lowman, B.S., RDCS, the team at Grand Valley State recognize that diversity in their clinical training well help better prepare their students as they transition into their careers as professional sonographers. To read more about Grand Valley State University, please click here

**ARDMS is committed to highlighting the accomplishments and diversity of sonography programs. If you would like to have your program featured, send a quick email to EducatorResources@ARDMS.org and share your program’s highlights.

Students Can Upload SPI Documents Electronically

Did you know that applicants can now upload the required documents for the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation examination directly to their MY ARDMS account? This feature is available only for this examination, and can only accessed after the application has been submitted. For more information, contact a Registrant Services team member, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. ET at 800-541-9754.

Coming Soon: Volunteer Position to Help Students!
ARDMS is excited to announce the new “Career Coach” volunteer position coming in Spring 2016 specifically to help students. An ARDMS Registrant will volunteer to either review a student's resume, or arrange a workplace tour for a student in their area. As students prepare to begin their careers in ultrasound, this added resource of receiving direct feedback from an ARDMS Career Coach will help in their transition from student to working professional. Stay tuned for more information posted soon on the student, educator, and volunteer sections ARDMS.org!

ARDMS Student and Educator Materials

As a result of your direct feedback, six brochures are now available for you and your students which cover the following topics:

  • ARDMS Credentialing Process
  • Choosing an Ultrasound Program
  • Job and Resume Tips
  • ADA Accommodations
  • Examination Security - Coming Soon!
  • Test Preparation Tips - Coming Soon!

To request copies of these brochures, please email EducatorResources@ARDMS.org including your name, mailing address, and which brochures you would like to receive. Please note, you may request only 50 copies of each brochure.

Student ARDMS Number

Current sonography students can now request an ARDMS number without applying for an examination. We encourage all students to apply for an ARDMS number as they begin their journey to become ultrasound professionals. Also, students eligible to apply under Prerequisite 2 must have an ARDMS number to participate in the Paperless Application Program.

Having an ARDMS number does not indicate Registry or examination eligibility status; it is an identifying tool only. Students may not present their ARDMS number as an indication of their relationship with ARDMS until they have passed the required examinations and have become credentialed. For more information on how to request a Student ARDMS Number, please click here.
