You must be able to communicate results and patient information to the appropriate healthcare providers as well as being able to work on and adapt to different PACS and EHR systems. Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Proficient in the use of medical ultrasound equipment and software Ability to accurately interpret images, assess results, and communicate findings to healthcare providers Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team Associate's or Bachelor's degree in sonography or related field is preferred Two or more years of experience as a sonographer is preferred but not required Experience in OB/GYN is a plus

A study presented at the American Society of Breast Surgeons Annual Meeting suggests that sentinel lymph node biopsy may be skipped by women with early-stage HR+HER2-breast cancer and a negative presurgical axillary ultrasound. The findings, based on the Sentinel Node vs. Observation After Axillary UltraSound trial in 2023, support careful implementation of removing surgical staging of the axilla among postmenopausal women with HR+HER2-breast cancer.
