Prerequisite & Requirement Eligibility Program

The Prerequisite & Requirement Eligibility Program (PREP) is an online guidance tool developed to ease the application process for first-time* applicants by providing them with a recommended** prerequisite or requirement to select when applying for an ARDMS examination.

The PREP program asks first-time applicants a series of questions about their educational and/or clinical background and experience. Based on the answers provided, ARDMS will recommend a prerequisite or requirement.  After receiving the recommendation, applicants are encouraged to apply online and begin the ARDMS certification process.

Please note: This program does not apply to the RPVI credential.  Please visit ARDMS.org/PVIprereq for the RPVI prerequisite chart.

*A first-time applicant is defined as an individual who: has never been approved to sit for an ARDMS examination or has been approved to sit for the SPI examination under the SPI Examination Requirement and is applying to sit for an examination other than the SPI examination, and/or has been approved to sit for the Physicians Vascular Interpretation (PVI) examination and is applying for the RDMS, RDCS or RVT credential(s) for the first time.

**This program DOES NOT,  and should not be construed,  to determine your ARDMS examination eligibility. Eligibility is determined by ARDMS staff upon receipt and review of completed application, fees and all necessary supporting documents
