• - The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography® (ARDMS®), incorporated in June 1975, is an independent, nonprofit organization that administers examinations and awards credentials in the areas of diagnostic medical sonography, diagnostic cardiac sonography and vascular technology.

• - The SDMS is a professional membership organization founded in 1970 to promote, advance, and educate its members and the medical community in the science of diagnostic medical sonography. The SDMS, with over 18,000 members, is the largest association of sonographers and sonography students in the world. In addition, SDMS offers membership in a variety of categories.
  
  
• - The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine is a multidisciplinary association dedicated to advancing the safe and effective use of ultrasound in medicine through professional and public education, research, development of guidelines, and accreditation.
  
  
• - Founded in 1977, the Society for Vascular Ultrasound, is the only professional organization completely dedicated to the advancement of noninvasive vascular technology used in the diagnosis of vascular disease. SVU is comprised of more than 3,500 vascular technologists, physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals. SVU offers educational programs, publications, networking opportunities, government representation, and more.
