Hannibal, Missouri, We’re looking for a dedicated and skilled Sonographer with credentials in Abdomen, RVT, and limited OB/GYN. If you bring a passion for quality care and teamwork, we’d love to meet you. Experience in echocardiography is a plus but if you’re eager to learn, we’re willing to train the right candidate! The Ultrasound Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examination, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide accurate imaging results. FT , Days , Weekender (Sat and Sun) 7am to 7:30pm, Mon: 2pm to 2:30am. Weekender position is eligible for a premium.  Eligible for up to $20,000 sign-on or tuition assistance. Graduate of a recognized, accredited ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) or have the necessary certifications required Candidates must  hold credentials in Abdomen, RVT, and OB/GYN (limited OB/GYN). Echocardiography is a plus, but training can be provided for the right candidate. Proficiency in operating US equipment and related software systems. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and imaging techniques. Familiarity of administering contrast agent safely. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Empathy and patience when dealing with anxious or uncooperative patients. Ability to assess images for quality and troubleshoot issues during scans. Quick decision-making in emergency situation (e.g., adverse reactions to contrast). Precision in positioning patients and setting up equipment. Accurate documentation of procedures in patient records. Weekender position is eligible for a premium.  Eligible for up to $20,000 sign-on or tuition assistance.

Study supports POCUS for diagnosing hip effusion in children

A study in the Annals of Emergency Medicine found that point-of-care ultrasound was highly accurate in diagnosing hip effusion, an indicator of septic arthritis, in pediatric emergency departments. The study involving 161 participants found that POCUS had a sensitivity of 93.5% and a specificity of 97.6% compared with radiology-performed ultrasound. AuntMinnie (free registration) (6/10)
