Target Audience

The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of healthcare providers involved in the treatment of patients with COVID-19 and dealing with mental health concerns. 

Statement of Need/Program Overview

Many in the healthcare community have found themselves at the forefront of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis and dealing with challenges from this uncertain time, including mental health concerns. The well-being of our healthcare professionals is critically important.

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to: 

  • Define mental health challenges within the healthcare community caring for patients with Coronavirus
        (COVID-19).
  • Explain the mental health needs of coworkers and colleagues caring for patients with Coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • Describe the emotional and mental health needs of those caring for patients with Coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • Explain how to treat and manage anxiety, depression, fear, and PTSD.
  • Describe how to practice and sustain resilience, happiness, mindfulness, and wellbeing.
  • Identify leadership tools to create a resilient and supportive healthcare environment.
