Ultrasound may help show nanoplastics in endometrial polyps

The research presented at the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine annual meeting highlights how ultrasound, as part of a multimodal approach, can reveal the retention of nanoplastics within endometrial polyps. It was found that nanoplastics accumulate more in larger polyps, with significant differences in their distribution, suggesting a potential link between environmental exposure to specific polymers and changes in polyp biology.
