How the RPVI and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Credentials Differ
The RPVI credential, offered exclusively to physicians, validates the clinical expertise fundamental to vascular sonography interpretation and recognizes the skills and knowledge required for making consistent and reliable diagnoses in vascular disease. The RPVI credential meets the physician training and experience criteria for the IAC (formally ICAVL) accreditation process. Find more information about the RPVI credential.
The RVT credential assesses the competency needed to perform a vascular sonography scan.
By January 1, 2017, all technical staff members must obtain a credential in vascular testing (i.e. –ARDMS registrants working in a IAC accredited vascular lab will need to obtain the RVT credential) in order for the lab to earn and/or keep their IAC vascular laboratory accreditation. You may receive calls from current registrants looking to earn the RVT for this reason. To view the full announcement, please click here.Apply Now
