Once the first examination is passed (either the SPI or specialty), you are required to take and pass the second examination within five years of passing the first examination.

Do I need to re-upload when applying for other specialty exams even if I have a RDCS license? Do I need to retake the SPI exam and CME?

ARDMS 자격 증명을 현재 보유하고 추가 전문 분야를 신청하려는 경우 재신청자로 간주됩니다. CV 양식이 등록 되있지 않은 경우 재신청자는 전공 시험 신청에 대한 clinical verification form만 제출하면 됩니다. ARDMS 자격 증명이 현재 보유하고 SPI 시험에 이미 합격한 경우 SPI 시험에 다시 응시할 필요가 없습니다.

Once you hold an Active ARDMS credential and want to apply for additional specialties you are considered a re-applicant. As a reapplicant you would only need to submit a clinical verification form for the applied for specialty examination, if you don’t already have a current CV form on file.

If you hold an Active ARDMS credential, and have previously passed the SPI examination, you will not be required to retake the SPI examination.

If you are applying to take the SPI examination under the SPI requirement you must submit the following documentation:

A transcript (see transcript requirements below) reflecting successful completion of a graded general, medical or sonographic college, post-secondary or higher education physics class (with a grade of C or above);

*If submitting a transcript from a school outside of the US or Canada, a formal course by course foreign transcript evaluation report must be submitted.

CME certificate denoting successful completion of a general, medical or sonographic physics seminar, physics review course, or physics correspondence course, denoting a minimum award of 12 ARDMS-accepted CME credits. The certificate must meet ARDMS CME documentation requirements (visit ARDMS.org/CME to view ARDMS accepted CMEs). The CME credits must be earned within two (2) years prior to application submission.

To earn an ARDMS credential, Applicants must choose and meet the requirements of a prerequisite. Review the Prerequisite Prep tool to help guide you through the prerequisite selection process and to select a prerequisite that best meets your education and clinical ultrasound experience. 5. 서류 업로드를 모두 마친 뒤 컨펌레터를 받으려면 시간이 얼마나 걸리나요?

How long does it take to receive a confirmation after uploading all documents?

모든 필수 문서가 업로드되면 ARDMS 직원이 문서를 검토하는 데 영업일 기준 약 7-10일이 소요됩니다. 필수 문서를 모두 제출한 경우 영업일 기준 14일 이내에 시험 일정에 대한 지침이 포함된 시험 확인서(ECL)를 받게 됩니다.

Once all of the required documents are uploaded, it takes the ARDMS staff about 7-10 business days to review the documentation. If you have submitted all the required documentation, you will receive an Examination Confirmation Letter (ECL) with instructions on how to schedule your examination within 14 business days from the time you completed uploading the required documentation.

Yes, you can request a partial refund, however you must request the examination cancellation a minimum of 96 hours prior to the end of your eligibility period or scheduled examination. In order to submit your Examination Cancellation Request, you will need to login to your MY ARDMS account. Once in your account, select “Exam Cancellation” from the “Exam Requests” menu option.

1. 시험에서 떨어지고 나서 언제부터 재시험 신청이 가능한가요?

When can I apply for a retest after failing the exam?

시험에 불합격한 후 3일 후에 재신청할 수 있습니다. 시험확인서신(ECL) 을 받으면 재응시 시험 일정(schedule)이 가능하지만 불합격 날로부터 60일 이후로 시험 날짜를 정하셔야 합니다.

You may reapply 3 days after you fail the exam. You will be able to schedule once you receive your Examination Confirmation Letter (ECL) but the soonest appointment will be a minimum of 60 days from the failed exam date.

2. 재시험 등록 때 서류를 다시 제출해야 하나요?

Do I need to resubmit the documents when registering for the re-take?

SPI 시험을 다시 신청하는 경우에는 문서를 다시 제출할 필요가 없습니다. 전문 검진을 다시 신청하고 현재 임상 증명서(CV) 양식이 파일에 있는 경우(CV 양식은 서명 날짜로부터 1년 유효), 검진을 신청하고 비용을 지불하기만 하면 됩니다. CV 양식을 제출하지 않은 경우 가장 최근 CV 양식도 제출해야 합니다. 등록된 CV를 열람하려면 MY ARDMS에 로그인하고 ” Application Center”에서 ” Clinical Verification Form을 클릭하십시오.

If you are reapplying for the SPI examination, then you do not need to resubmit any documentation. If you are reapplying for a specialty examination and have a current Clinical Verification (CV) form on file (CV forms are valid one year from the date of signature), you will only need to apply for and pay the examination fees.

If you do not have a current CV form on file, you will also be required to submit a current CV form.

To access your active CV Form, please log into MY ARDMS and click on “Clinical Verification Form” under “Application Center.”

Yes, certificates expire yearly. Each year you must pay an annual renewal fee, attest to ARDMS rules and policies,,  and attest to earning 30 ARDMS accepted CMEs within your designated three year CME period to maintain your credential(s).

When can I get my certification after passing the exam?

자격증은 일반적으로 두 번째 시험에 합격한 날로부터 약 6주 후에 우편으로 발송됩니다. 우편물은 우편 서비스에 따라 달라지며 천재지변으로 인한 영향을 받을 수 있습니다.

Certificates are typically mailed about six weeks from the date you passed the second examination. Mailing is dependent on the postal service and can be affected by world events.

3. 자격유지비용(renewal fee)이 얼마인가요? 자격증이 여러 개라면 유지비용도 여러 번 내야 하나요?

How much is the renewal fee? If I have multiple certifications, do you have to pay the renewal fee multiple times?

2022년 기준으로 RDMS, RDCS, RVT, RMSKS 자격 증명의 경우 $85입니다. 여러 ARDMS 자격증을 보유하더라도 비용은 동일합니다.

4. RDCS자격증 취득 후 status가 drop인 상태인 경우 이를 다시 살릴 수 있는 방법이 있나요?
