Join us for an educational webinar on Heterotopic Pregnancy: Detection, Diagnosis & Prevention. This practical case-based session for registered sonographers focuses on optimizing ultrasound acquisition and clinical reasoning for detecting heterotopic and ectopic pregnancy in the first trimester. Through a real-world patient case, live polling, and image-based exercises, participants will sharpen skills from comprehensive adnexal scanning and β-hCG correlation to recognizing diagnostic pitfalls that can have life-threatening consequences for patients.
Learners will:
- Recognize clinical presentations of heterotopic pregnancy, including typical and atypical findings.
- Apply comprehensive scanning strategies, including proper adnexal assessment and extended sweeps.
- Identify critical scanning limitations and technical factors that affect the detection of heterotopic pregnancy.
- Differentiate ectopic pregnancy from common ultrasound mimics including corpus luteum cysts and hemorrhagic cysts.
- Implement systematic approaches and communication strategies to reduce missed diagnoses and improve patient outcomes.
