When to apply for the MSKS examination:
July 27, 2021 – October 5, 2021
When to take the MSKS examination:
October 19, 2021 – November 18, 2021
During the application window for the MSKS examination, you will need to provide proof of your clinical experience, please note that application letter(s) must include:
- Copy of current valid license or active certification
- Government-issued ID
The MSKS examination fee is $250 USD. If you take an ARDMS examination at an international test center (outside the U.S., Canada and Mexico), you will be charged an additional non-refundable $50 USD fee when you schedule your examination. This fee is subject to change without notice. Register for a practice test on MY ARDMS.
Prerequisites
Completed SPI examination and third-party MSKS attestation indicating the performance and/or authorized diagnosis of a minimum of 150 musculoskeletal ultrasound studies within the preceding 36 months of application.

ANSI Accreditation
The RMSKS and RMSK credentialing programs are now accredited by ANSI under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17024 Standard. The accreditation of the MSKS/MSK examinations were approved by ANSI on February 12, 2019.
